Toronto musician Patrick Joseph Grant has been spreading smooth, retro rock vibes as Rogue Tenant over the last two years alongside a cast of collaborators, including members of PS I Love You, Fast Romantics and the Wilderness of Manitoba. Now, the project is set to release their second EP. Compassion is due November 29.
The follow-up to 2018 debut EP Three Pictures, Compassion was recorded with producer Brian Lahaie, who passed away in March due to cancer. The recordings mark the final collaborations between Grant and Lahaie, who had worked together over a span of five years.
Alongside the announcement of the EP comes lead single "Back to You" and an accompanying video. "Back to You" is a sultry soft rock jam, complete with Grant's soft, bass-baritone vocals and a schmaltzy sax solo. The track has been treated to a surreal, psychedelic video by Keaton Evans.
Rogue Tenant will be celebrating the EP release with a show at the Baby G in Toronto on November 28.
