After an epic 17 years as one-half of the talented Wighnomy Bros, prolific German producer/DJ Robag Wruhme (aka Gabor Schablitzki) has decided that it's time to go solo. His latest DJ mix, Wuppdeckmischmampflow (released on Cologne-based label Kompakt) is a flawless set featuring his personal favourites from the last ten years. The mix starts off with the soft, somber sounds of Danny Norbury's "Speak, Memory" and then gradually builds to Ricardo Villalobos' timeless "Dexter," which he effortlessly weaves throughout the compilation. Other standout moments are Moderat's euphoric vocal track ("Rusty Nails"), which flows perfectly into DJ Koze's dub house rhythms, layered with Claro Intelecto's artistic class. Wruhme's ability to play two tracks simultaneously throughout the mix highlights his meticulous craftsmanship as a producer. Wuppdeckmischmampflow is an extremely well thought-out set that takes you on a seamless, optimistic journey, closing with the sentimentalities of Zwanie Jonson's nostalgic "Sweater Day."
