A former member of the prolific Wighnomy Brothers duo, Robag Wruhme (aka Gabor Schablitzki) delivers his second full-length solo release on DJ Koze's fairly new Pampa label. On Thora Vukk, Wruhme demonstrates his superior craftsmanship as a producer as he delicately combines organic field recordings and sparse, contemporary, classical orchestration with micro-house beats. All of these elements come together as beautifully executed compositional arrangements and as Wruhme puts it, they are "ideal for the bedroom or passenger cabins of any kind." The self-titled track is propelled forward by organic percussion sounds, distant glass clanging and light, optimism-fuelled melodic tones. "Phom Gobal" will warm your soul with its perfectly paced snaps, rattles, beats, piano melodies and soft, content vocal hums. "Tulpa Ovi" is a touching piano house groove incorporating nostalgic voices of kids. You'll be compelled to listen to this album on repeat after the first taste. Robag Wruhme will win your heart with his sentimental, mature grooves and sophistication. Highly recommended and definitely one of the best releases of 2011.
