Details have yet to arrive in full, but tragic news comes today (January 9) that former Grade and Somehow Hollow member Kent Abbott passed away earlier this week at the age of 32. It's unclear just how the musician passed, but the unfortunate announcement came from Grade earlier today in an in memoriam tweet.
"Shocked and saddened to hear that friend and Grade/Somehow Hollow guitarist Kent Abbott passed away. All our thoughts are with his family," the act wrote.
Following the announcement, friends and fans took to Twitter to offer their condolences, including pop-punk act Strung Out, who wrote: "Saddens us to hear about our Canadian brother passing . Kent Abbott was a huge SO fan, talented guitarist & dear friend to many. RIP KA."
Abbott played with Grade between 2001 and 2002 near the end of their original run before moving to the poppier Somehow Hollow. The troupe issued Busted Wings and Rusted Halos through Victory Records in 2002. He later went on to play in the .45 Goodbye.
UPDATE: Abbott's funeral service will be held in Stratford, ON, on Saturday (January 12). You can learn more details about the service here.
