Rilo Kiley haven't released an album since 2007's Under the Blacklight, and we figured they were done for good after they went on hiatus in 2010 and announced their breakup in 2011. Well, it looks as if the group may make a comeback after all, since a mysterious Facebook post hints that a new album is in the works.
Earlier today (December 27), the band wrote, "Record is almost finished, and artwork is nearly done. Going to need your help! More to come."
To speculate, this makes it sounds like the band have almost completed a new album and may be launching a crowd funding campaign to help release it.
Then again, Rilo Kiley previously have said that they have a backlog of unreleased material for a new compilation, so it's possible that this may be the new record in question.
UPDATE: As suspected, the record is indeed a compilation of archival material, Pitchfork confirmed, not a new studio album.
All will doubtless be revealed in due course, so stay tuned for more updates.
