Rick Astley has released a new single titled "Unwanted." The track, officially released earlier today, serves as the theme for Kyle Shevrin and Lamorne Morris comedy/crime podcast by the same name. Astley co-wrote and co-produced the track with Deron Johnson, QCode's head of music.
"I co-wrote it for the original comedy-drama podcast series Unwanted, with a shared love for the '80s. Get in the groove," Astley tweeted today.
"It has been a fun and exciting thing to write a song for a podcast," he added in a statement. "It's a new world for me and I really love what we came up with!"
Astley shared news of the song through his various social channels, including Reddit, where he has a strong presence and following in the r/Music board.
The release comes just a few weeks after Astley saw renewed viral fame for the 4K AI remaster of his 1987 "Never Gonna Give You Up" music video.
