Revenge of the Egg People

This St. Catharines, ON-based collective have always been more about the live experience than the recorded material, until now. Their whacked-out performances are the stuff of legend, but much like Gwar, their music was always secondary. This disc, which is somewhere between their fourth and ninth official release, should prove that they are more than manic wannabe performance artists. Residing somewhere between Green Day, or the Buzzcocks, Face to Face and the Dictators, ROTEP serves up a tasty rock omelette stuffed full of '80s-style pop punk, catchy as hell melodies, the odd Chili Pepper bass lick and raunchy vocals. Now pass the ketchup, I'm going back for seconds.
