Resin are creating a buzz on the West Coast with their adult alternative sounds, folk rock mixed with a touch of keyboards. The band is headed by Julie Vik, who seems to be dealing with a Christian upbringing through her poetic lyrics on songs like“Jesus on a Sword,” and “Turn the Other Cheek.” Her philosophy degree may be a contributing factor to these deep heartfelt songs. Despite its potential, this album doesn’t go beyond the typical folk meets keyboard sounds.
