Remy Shand Announces Expanded 20th Anniversary Edition of 'The Way I Feel'

Remember Remy Shand?!

Canada's favourite forgotten songwriter of the early '00s is reissuing his hit debut album. That's right — Remy Shand is reissuing an expanded version of 2002's The Way I Feel. This deluxe edition will arrive digitally on April 22 via Universal/Motown.

This version of The Way I Feel adds six rare cuts to the tracklist: three non-album tracks and three instrumental versions. One of those rarities is a smooth soul ballad called "A Day in the Shade," which is out now (although it's not on Spotify just yet, and the only version currently on YouTube was uploaded by a fan years ago).

"My vision was to push through and create a solid platform for musical autonomy — the bedroom musician, the one-person band," Shand said in a statement. "Twenty years later it's the norm. Universal Music Canada and UMe/Motown understood the mission and the authenticity within. The album, music and statement will always be ahead of its time… and the message of love, eternal. It's the way I feel."

Videos for the hit songs "Take a Message," "The Way I Feel" and "Rocksteady" will finally be released through official channels.

The Way I Feel won the Juno Award for Best R&B/Soul Recording, but Shand hasn't released another album since. He released a string of independent singles around the middle of last decade.
