Red Hot Chili Peppers Finally Share a Clip of New Music with John Frusciante

The band are teasing something

Red Hot Chili Peppers are finally teasing some new music. After many months of hints about their new album with returning guitarist John Frusciante, the band have shared what appears to be a clip of their new material.

On Instagram, the band posted a moody video of a neon sign in the shape of their asterisk logo. The clip, which is only about 18 seconds long, features some mellow guitar/bass interplay that sounds very distinctly like Frusciante.

It's not clear whether this is a snippet of a new song from their forthcoming album, or simply a new jam the band are working on — but it definitely sounds nicely mixed, and not simply a rough recording from the practice space.

There were various updates about the band's new material throughout 2021. RHCP booked a worldwide tour, and their own website listed a spring 2022 release date from the album, but they've yet to formally confirm any details about it.
