Red Hot Chili Peppers Confirm Spring 2022 Release for New Album with John Frusciante

Red Hot Chili Peppers have been working on their new album with returning guitarist John Frusciante, but despite reports that the LP was finished and would be coming out soon, it has now been confirmed for a spring 2022 release date.The album is available to preorder on the band's official website — even though it doesn't yet have a confirmed title, album cover or release date. It is simply listed as "Red Hot Chili Peppers Album 2022" and a note says, "Album ships spring 2022."

Even though the album release date is a little later than anticipated, it coincides nicely with the band's upcoming tour, which runs next summer from June to September. The outing includes a Toronto date with openers the Strokes and Thundercat.
