While Real Estate have been swallowed up by the Matt Mondanile controversy lately, the band are apparently setting their sights on new music. The group's latest release will not come in the form of a proper album, though, but via new original songs they have written for an upcoming film.
As Deadline reports, Real Estate are contributing newly penned tracks to the upcoming romantic comedy Plus One, which is being written and directed by Andrew Rhymer and Jeff Chan.
The film is coming at the hands of Ben Stiller's Red Hour Films and Studio71, and it will star Jack Quaid, Maya Erskine, Ed Begley Jr, Perrey Reeves, Finn Wittrock, Rosalind Chao, Jon Bass and Beck Bennett.
According to Deadline, here's what we can expect from the film: "Set during the inevitable year in which seemingly every person they know is getting married, Plus One follows Alice (Erskine) and Ben (Quaid), longtime friends who agree to be each other's date as they power through the nuptials."
So far it's unclear when exactly Plus One will hit theatres. It's also unclear how many new songs Real Estate have written for the film, as well as if their contributions will be treated to a soundtrack release.
