Kendrick Lamar dropped his highly anticipated latest LP DAMN. last week, and the Compton rapper has just given fans insight into what his own mother thinks of the new record.
Thanks to a screenshot of a text from his mom that Lamar shared on Instagram, we now know what "Momma" thinks of her son's most recent musical offering. She declares it "bomb" and tells the hip-hop star, "This is your best one to me, no bullshit."
She goes on to tease her son for not putting his parents on the cover of this album and jokes that his worried (and totally meme-able) expression on the cover is due to she and his dad "always stressing him out."
Lamar's mom concludes the message by admitting that she missed his set at Coachella (complete with shame-filled, face-hiding monkey emojis), but gives the "die hard" fans who didn't a shout-out for their impressive support.
As for Lamar's response to his ma's emoji-laden ethusiasm? He tells her she's gone "emoji brazy" and asks where she picked up the use of the bright red "100" emoji.
Take in the totally adorable exchange in its entirety below. For more insight on King Kendrick's latest album, check out his recent in-depth, on-camera Beats 1 interview with Zane Lowe.
