In addition to his solo work, Virginia artist Trey Songz has lent his talented R&B pipes to the hooks of hits from Waka Flocka Flame, J. Cole, Lupe Fiasco, Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Drake and countless others. Now, however, he's made headlines after being arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman. It's not another Chris Brown situation, however, as Songz reportedly "attacked" the woman with a stack of money.

TMZ reports that Songz was celebrating the release of his Chapter V album at a stripclub in Queens this past August. Around 4 a.m., police were called in to break up an altercation caused by Songz "making it rain" on a woman.

In the criminal complaint, police said, "Tremaine Neverson, did throw a sum of United States currency at the complainant and said sum of United States currency struck the complainant's left eye causing substantial pain to her left eye."

The singer, born Tremaine Neverson, was not arrested that night, though he was charged with misdemeanour assault and had a court date on November 1. He's due back in court this February.
