This month, Montreal-bred/Vancouver-based soundshaper RAMZi is releasing an album through prolific cassette label 1080p. There's still a couple of weeks to go until the arrival of Houti Kush, and the artist born Phoebé Guillemot is previewing it by streaming the track "Princess of Cups."
The song is an trippy sonic voyage, as clattering rhythms are overlaid with all sorts of sonic abstractions, including watery filters, unintelligible robo voices and tropical bird twittering. As a package, it's more than a little out there, and you can hear it for yourself below.
Houti Kush is due out on July 21.
