After releasing full-length album bodiesofwater last year, Rae Spoon has detailed a follow-up effort.
Titled Mental Health, the album is set to arrive August 16 through Coax Records. Eight tracks in length, the effort marks Rae Spoon's 10th full-length album and was recorded at the the Noise Floor on BC's Gabriola Island.
Mental Health also features appearances from Northcote and the Pack A.D. guitarist/vocalist Becky Black. Black contributes to first single "I Can't Sleep," which can be heard below.
"I like to write songs about things that happen to me, but I haven't heard a lot of songs directly about it," Rae said of the track in a press release. "Like so many people, I struggle with insomnia and there's something otherwordly about being awake when everyone else is asleep. I try to take the listener to that world with the music."
