This month marks 25 years since R.E.M. released Monster, and the band have announced plans to celebrate the occasion with a new expanded reissue.
Set to arrive November 1 through Craft Recordings, the reissue of the band's ninth studio album will see release as a deluxe six-disc box set.
The top-tier edition will feature a remastered version of the 1994 album, a collection of unreleased demos, a new 2019 remix from original producer Scott Litt and a complete 1995 performance recorded in Chicago.
A Blu-ray disc included in the package features Monster in both hi-resolution audio and 5.1 surround sound, on top of their 1995 tour doc Road Movie and all six music videos from the album.
The six discs will come housed in a portfolio book complete with liner notes from journalist Matthew Perpetua and archival photographs. The remaster and 2019 remix of Monster will also arrive as 2xLP and 2-CD sets, while the remaster will also be available as a single LP.
Alongside the announcement, you can hear the remixed version of "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?" below. Complete tracklistings and pre-order information all editions of the Monster reissue can be found through R.E.M.'s official website.
R.E.M. gave 1992's Automatic for the People a similar reissue treatment back in 2017. Last year, the band rolled out their R.E.M. at the BBC box set.
