Toronto Pride will return for its 35th edition next month, running from June 19 to 28. As could be expected, the milestone event has attracted some big names.
Russian protest punks Pussy Riot have signed up to be international grand marshals for the fest's parade on June 28. They'll be joined by veteran pop star Cyndi Lauper. The festivals grand marshall, on the other hand, is Scarborough native David Furnish, filmmaker and husband of Elton John.
Pride is, of course, much more than just a series of parades, so organizers have announced a series of events throughout its run. Among them is an appearance from cult filmmaker John Waters, who will bring his series The Filthy World to the Ryerson Theatre on June 22.
Chaz Bono will also appear at Pride for the Transforming Pride event on June 26 at Yonge-Dundas Square.
