Projektor

Two tasty slices of romantic indie rock from Winnipeg. The Paperbacks are a promising bunch with melodic lead guitar and pretty backing vocals recorded with eight-track charm. Projektor also boasts delicate backing vocals, which isn't the first thing you'd expect coming from a former member of the Kittens. But that band always did betray a wider musical scope than their metal peers and with this band, bassist Jahmeel teams up with the Meatrack drummer and the Leaderhouse guitarist to form a jangly combo maxing out on mood. Both these bands deserve full-lengths soon.
