Calgary-based songwriter and session drummer Cary Pratt has released a new album under his Prairie Cat moniker. "Look the Same" comes accompanied by a psychedelic rollerskating video.
The song is a breezy keyboard pop tune with an undercurrent of melancholy and nostalgia. It's a little more guitar-heavy than Prairie Cat's usual material, thanks to the six-string contributions of Reed Shimozawa. Lyrics that reflect on the passage of time are appropriate, given that Pratt released the song in celebration of his 40th birthday.
"Look the Same" was mixed and mastered by Mounties/Limblifter member Ryan Dahle. The video was edited by Steve Bays (of Mounties and Hot Hot Heat). This is Prairie Cat's first material 2017 album Is Cary Pratt.
