Italian-born dream-pop producer Mauro Remiddi promised us a new sound on his upcoming Porcelain Raft album, Permanent Signal, and now he's showcased this by sharing the single "Think of the Ocean."
The song begins with an abstract blur of glitchy-sounding synths, which are brought into focus by a thudding bass drum and tuneful pop melodies. The album swells into a lush arrangement of tinkling piano, vocal harmonies, and orchestral swells. There's also a simple accompanying visual showing a man looking at what appears to be a notebook covered in black ink, although this isn't intended as an official video.
Permanent Signal is out on August 20 through Secretly Canadian.
