Following the one-two-three punch of 2008's Sun on Sun and 2009's Maker and Sea Voids, the brothers Carney took a well-deserved break from dropping records with their Pontiak project. That will change soon, though, as they've announced a new album.
The new release is called Echo Ono, and marks the first time the band have ditched their impromptu rehearsal recordings and written a start-to-finish album. According to a press release, "this new approach has streamlined the album and resulted in some of their most concise and direct songs yet."
Album track "Lions of Least" can be downloaded here, while a video preview of the entire record can be streamed below.
Look for Echo Ono to drop on February 21 via Thrill Jockey.
