A Journey Cassette Just Caused a Bomb Squad to Evacuate a Building

Cassette tapes might be standard items for Discogs nerds, DIY musicians and Walkman-wearing heshers, but they're clearly not as accepted in the mainstream as one might expect. After all, a bomb squad in Charlotte, NC, evacuated a building today over a "suspicious package" that wound up simply containing a Journey tape.

According to local station CBS 17, officials were called into the Duke Energy building earlier today to look at the suspicious package that arrived in the mail room. The package was described as a small manilla envelope from out of state.

Police evacuated the building, called in a K-9 unit and shut down roads surrounding the building. A bomb squad investigated the package only to discover that it contained a cassette tape from classic rock heroes Journey.

Officials didn't reveal which album, although if it was 1996's Trial by Fire, we'd argue it should still be considered a bomb.
