Planesmistakenforstars

Fuck With Fire

BY Stuart GreenPublished Nov 1, 2001

Finally from this Denver (by way of Illinois) quartet comes a full album's worth of material, having released two EPs previously since forming in 1997. With their influences grounded in the soulful emo elements of bands like Texas is the Reason and Farside and the heavy metal of their youth, the band's sound is a gritty, melodic fusion of punk and pop along the lines of Leatherface, Hot Water Music, Grade and Avail. While that sound is one that has become very common in the emo-core genre, planesmistakenforstars delivers their music and positive hardcore message with a ferocity and intensity that is undeniably powerful.
