Pipe Dreams

'So We Can Strive' (EP stream)

Hailing from Charlottetown, PEI, four-piece emo act Pipe Dreams are releasing their debut EP So We Can Strive today (March 24), and you can stream it in its entirety at Exclaim! right now.

The three-song offering opens hard and heavy with "Glass Floors," before softening things up a bit on "Wise Up" and "New Grounds." Melodic verses and shout-along choruses weave their way throughout the tracks, which serve as a vehicle for the band's "pure emotion and energy."

According to the band, the new tunes reflect "personal growth in times of anguish and uncertainty" — a sentiment that shines through in lines like "I'm dying to believe I can be something before I die" on the middle track.

The set was recorded in the group's hometown of Charlottetown at The Guild with producer David Rashed and mixed and mastered by Mark Scott at Smashbox Studios.

So We Can Strive is available digitally now, with cassette and CD releases of the EP to follow in mid-May via Significant Other Media. Give it a listen below.
