Contrary to recent reports, the surviving members of Pink Floyd will not be getting back together to perform at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The London Evening Standard had claimed that guitarist David Gilmour, bassist Roger Waters and drummer Nick Mason would be appearing together at the opening ceremony for the first official Pink Floyd performance since 2005's Live 8 event, but representatives for Gilmour stepped in quickly to deny this.
"David Gilmour can confirm that there is no truth in recent media speculation about Pink Floyd re-uniting to perform for the 2012 London Olympics," the statement explained.
Paul McCartney is also being rumoured to take part in the opening spectacular, which, as previously reported, is being put together by Underworld and director Danny Boyle.
Last May, both Gilmour and Mason appeared onstage with Waters at London's O2 Arena as part of the bassist's The Wall tour, but Gilmour called the event a "one-off."
