Rosalía Fan Recreates 'Motomami' Show After She Skipped Peru on Tour

A Fauxtomami show, if you will

Especially as Canadians, we know the pain of our favourite artist skipping our city while on massive world tours. Not as many of us, though, have the dedication to recreate the entire production — choreography, costumes and all. This is precisely what a Rosalía fan from Peru did after her tour missed the country, and we have to respect the hustle.

YouTuber and Rosalía superfan iOA organized the event in Lima to film for his channel, with rehearsals for the show lasting four months. Labelled the "El Miji Show," iOA himself performed as the Spanish pop star, lip-synching through her Motomami tour's setlist while his backup dancers — dubbed his "motopapis" — mimicked the original show's choreography.

The elaborately planned show was a huge success, with iOA selling out the Amphitheater Exposition Park, a 3,000-person capacity venue. "Since I was a little kid, I swear to you from the bottom of my heart, I replicated concerts by myself in my room … and I can't believe that [this many years ahead], I'm here in front of more than 3,000 [people]," the YouTuber said while performing [as translated by Variety].

All of this dedication makes us hope Rosalía eventually brings the people of Lima what they so desperately want.

In the same way the singer snubbed the Peruvians, Exclaim! snubbed Rosalía by not putting Motomami on our Best Albums of 2022 list. Sorry!

While iOA's video of the concert has yet to be released, footage from the Fauxtomami show is gaining traction on Twitter. Watch some of it below.
