Perry Farrell Returns with 'Kind Heaven' Solo Album
The record comes alongside his VR Las Vegas show
Published Oct 16, 2018Earlier this year, we got all the details on Perry Farrell's wild $100 million VR show "Kind Heaven," which is set to open in Las Vegas next year. Now, it's been revealed that he'll release an album alongside the exhibition.
As revealed in a press release, Farrell has signed to BMG ahead of releasing a new solo LP, also titled Kind Heaven. While the effort has yet to receive a concrete release date, it's expected to arrive in 2019.
Kind Heaven was produced by Tony Visconti and is said to feature Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, Tommy Lee, Matt Chamberlain, Mike Garson, Dhani Harrison, Chris Chaney, Peter Distefano and more.
The LP is also said to feature orchestral arrangements from Harry Gregson-Williams, duets with Farrell's wife Etty, and a "first-of-its-kind sound mix" from IMN Creative.
"Every concept I've ever had began with music as its bedrock: Jane's Addiction, Lollapalooza and now Kind Heaven," Pharrell said in a statement. "I am energized by my partnership with BMG and their commitment to my music, and to powering it with state-of-the-art technology. Kind Heaven is mixed in Dolby Atmos, binaurally, and, of course, in stereo."
Kind Heaven marks Farrell's second solo effort, following 2001's Song Yet to Be Sung. Ahead of the album's release, Farrell will debut his new live band with a performance at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco on December 2.
As previously reported, Farrell's "Kind Heaven" VR show will "combine RF technology, Hollywood-style storytelling and wearable tech to immerse visitors in a personalized, exotic journey that offers the best of Southeast Asian culture, music, food, danger, fashion, exoticism, exploration, mystery and spiritual enlightenment."
