Pepper Sands

In the middle of the strong Vancouver Special compilation, this young band was one of the best. Their track, "So Fine," reprised on this debut four-song EP, is an instant pop classic, exactly three minutes of songcraft perfection driven by a bass riff by singer Citizen A. Her vocals, whose depth disguise her youth, imbue killer lines like: "All I need is one last fix of your unbelievable sunset kisses." The remaining three tracks are hit and miss, but their live shows suggests there is more greatness to come.
