We thought that Pearl Jam's recent 20th anniversary celebrations and retrospective releases meant that the iconic grunge band's vaults were pretty much empty. Not so. Pearl Jam Twenty documentary director Cameron Crowe recently stopped by the group's Sirius/XM satellite radio station to share an old demo called "Chinese."
As Crowe explains, the demo is composition by guitarist Stone Gossard that was recorded by Pearl Jam way back in 1991. A part of it was included in Pearl Jam Twenty. Eddie Vedder's contribution to the track is minimal, and mostly consists of background moaning. Still, this is classic Pearl Jam, with dark and grunge-y riffs that sound like they would of fit nicely on Ten.
Listen below. The song stats around the 1:53 mark.
