Paul Weller Gathers Up Outtakes for 'Dragonfly' EP

BY Alex HudsonPublished Nov 9, 2012

Paul Weller has been releasing music — either as a solo act or a member of the Jam and the Style Council — for 35 years, but he's still got a reasonably prolific output. Having released Sonik Kicks earlier in 2012, the Modfather is gearing up to drop a new EP before the year's end. Entitled Dragonfly, it will be out on December 17 in the UK via Universal.

While the title track is culled from Sonik Kicks, the rest of the six-song collection is composed of rarities and B-sides. This includes "Devotion," which appeared on deluxe editions of the full-length, plus a selection of outtakes from the album sessions.

This is the first time that any of this material (aside from "Dragonfly") has been released on vinyl. The artwork was done specially for the EP by artist Sir Peter Blake (who famously co-designed the sleeve for Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band).

The EP will be available digitally and in a limited run of 3,000 vinyl copies. Pre-order a copy here.
