Old Man Gloom Return with 'NO'

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 1, 2012

On-again, off-again sludge supergroup Old Man Gloom recently announced a quickie U.S. tour, despite not having released any new material since 2004's Christmas. That's all about to change, however, as it's now been revealed that the troupe will offer up a new skull-shattering LP called NO in June.

The band -- made up of past and present members of Converge, Isis, Zozobra and Cave In -- announced the new album in a Facebook message today (May 1), explaining that it will hit retailers June 26 through Hydra Head. That said, they hinted that the collection will be available at their merch table. The first show takes place tomorrow (May 2) at Boston's T.T. the Bear's.

A tracklisting has yet to be revealed, but a trailer for the album features a two-second locking groove of ominous guitar crunch and gong hits. You can check it out below and salivate over what other sounds will pop up on the record.

Tour dates:

5/2 Boston, MA - T.T. the Bear's
5/3 Allston, MA - Great Scott
5/4 Philadelphia, PA - First Unitarian Church

5/6 Baltimore, MD - Ottobar

5/7 Hamden, CT - The Space

5/8 Brooklyn, NY - Europa
