Just over two years removed from releasing their Mesmer album, Northlane have shared the details behind their fifth full-length effort.

The Australian outfit will deliver a new album titled Alien through UNFD on August 2. Eleven tracks in length, Alien was produced entirely by the band and was recorded in their native Sydney.

Northlane have also shared first single "Bloodline," which arrives alongside a video directed by recurring collaborator Jason Eshraghian. The clip, which can be found below, chronicles an abusive relationship between a father and son.

Of the video, vocalist Marcus Bridge said, "It goes into some fine detail once again about that environment of growing up around parents who use drugs, violent parents and all that stuff that a lot of people do deal with that maybe don't feel comfortable talking about. This video is going to make you feel pretty uncomfortable, but I think it's a story that isn't really told often enough."

Alongside news of the album, Northlane have mapped out a North American tour that will bring them to the continent this August and September.

Three Canadian stops have been included in their itinerary, with dates set for Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. Joining them on the trek are Erra, Currents and Crystal Lake.
