Northern Lights Festival Boréal will return to Sudbury, ON, from July 8 to 10 and organizers have just rolled out a preview of the musical lineup for this year's instalment. Taking place at the city's Bell Park, this will mark the 45th anniversary of the long-running event.
Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy have both headlined the festival individually, but the married couple will be teaming up to take the top-billed spot together on July 9. The Cape Breton-based duo, affectionately dubbed the "first couple of contemporary Celtic music," will be performing songs from their collaborative album Bob Ezrin-produced One, as well as interpretations of Celtic music from across their extensive catalogues.
Fleshing out the weekend's bill are acts like Kate Maki and Fred Squire, Sheesham and Lotus, Melanie Brulée, Anique Granger, Union Duke and Cindy Cook, with more to be announced soon.
Adult early bird tickets to the festival are currently available for $85.57, while student and youth attendees can grab passes for $65.95. Full festival information, including ticketing options, schedules and directions, can be found at the official Northern Lights Festival Boréal website.
