Northcote Maps Out Canadian Tour
Published Apr 25, 2013Northcote (aka Matt Goud) recently revealed he'll be dropping his self-titled sophomore set on May 7 through Black Box Recordings, and now the folky Vancouver Island-based artist has announced he'll be hitting the mainland for a Canadian tour.
The trip kicks off with a hometown show in Victoria on May 25, but he'll make his way out to Quebec and back through the Prairies before returning to BC. Along the way, he'll share stages with the likes of with Vancouver rockers the Matinee and moody shoegazers the Besnard Lakes, as well as make appearances at events like NXNE and Sled Island, among others.
You can check out all the details down below.
As previously reported, Northcote's impending self-titled LP was produced by Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, Dan Mangan, Gold & Youth) at the Hive studios in Burnaby BC, and features guest appearances from Kathryn Calder, former We Are the City guitarist Blake Enemark, and more.
The song cycle is said to be "filled with grooving soul drums, horns, bouncy basslines, atmospheric guitar and sing-along group vocals, creating a sound more fully realized and richer than Northcote's previous efforts."
Check in to Exclaim! next week for an early stream of Northcote.
