No Doubt To Tour and Record in 2009

Following a four-year hiatus in which front-woman Gwen Stefani became an even bigger mega star, had another baby and launched a perfume (and the other members did what?), Californian post-ska kings and queen No Doubt have announced that they’ll spend 2009 touring and recording new music. The announcement came via a fake IM conversation between the band that can be viewed here. Besides boasting about their hangovers, the band use the chat to discuss going on the road and getting the ball rolling for some eventual studio time.

Their first scheduled appearance is the headlining slot at New York’s upcoming Bamboozle Festival on May 3. The band will join Fall Out Boy and a flurry of others for the fest.

This news comes just a week after Blink-182 announced that they’re in talks for a possible reunion. It all begs the question: is it really time to feel nostalgic about the late ’90s and early 2000s?
