If the recently suspected co-headlining tour between Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden seemed too good (or weird) to be true, well, it isn't. This evening (March 15) the bands confirmed the North American trek, which also throws in openers Death Grips.
For the most part, this is a U.S. tour, with the bands kicking things off in Las Vegas on July 19 before spending a big part of their summer on the road together. Luckily, there is one Canadian date: July 27 at Toronto's Molson Canadian Amphitheatre.
As previously mentioned, Soundgarden are celebrating their Superunknown, which will receive a 20th anniversary box set release on June 3 through A&M Records/UME. And it's also the 20th anniversary of Nine Inch Nails' The Downward Spiral, which was actually released the same day as Superunknown, on March 8, 1994.
That said, the pairing may seem a little strange considering NIN's Trent Reznor took some very public shots at Soundgarden's Chris Cornell a few years back of the latter's Scream solo album. But apparently that's all water under the bridge now.
