Nick Cave fans have learned much more about the artist this year through his Red Hand Files website, and he's now set to compile more thoughts and musings in a new book.

Publisher Canongate has announced that Cave's illustrated autobiography, titled Stranger Than Kindness, will arrive March 23. The book will pair images with "commentary and meditations from Cave" and writer Darcey Steinke on themes that are central to his work.

According to the publisher, Stranger Than Kindness "asks what shapes our lives and makes us who we are, and celebrates the curiosity and power of the creative spirit."

The autobiography will be released in conjunction with an exhibition of the same name. Stranger Than Kindness: The Nick Cave Exhibition will run at the Black Diamond in Copenhagen from March 23 to October 3 and will feature reproductions of original artwork, handwritten lyrics, photographs and collected personal artifacts.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds released new album Ghosteen last month.
