Former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted is launching his band Newsted with the debut EP Metal, due out on January 8. Now, you can preview the four-stringer's new material by checking out the song "Soldierhead."
This ultra-aggressive song boasts ferociously distorted metal riffs and headbanging rhythms that bear a distinct similarity to Newsted's work with Metallica. There are some instrumental passages, including a wailing guitar solo, and the results pack a serious punch.
