New York Dolls Reunite With Todd Rundgren For New Studio Album

Resurrected glitter rockers New York Dolls are coming back at us with a new album dubbed 'Cause I Sez So, which for the first time since the band's self-titled 1973 debut, will be produced by famed boardsman Todd Rundgren.

The Dolls apparently laid down this follow-up to their 2006 reunion effort, One Day It Will Please Us to Remember Even This, at Utopia Sound Studio in Kauai, Hawaii, recording 11 new originals with Rundgren and a revamped version of their 1973 track "Trash."

In a statement, head Doll David Johansen said: "It was amazing working with Todd again, and I think we were able to evoke the special sound of our first album and drag it by the hair into the present."

The band are set to embark on a full-fledged U.S. tour in May, but so far have only announced a trio of shows for this year's SXSW in Austin, which will be played by the band's current line-up of Johansen (vocals), Sylvain Sylvain (guitar), Steve Conte (guitar), Brian Delaney (drums) and Sami Yaffa (bass).

New York Dolls have also passed us the tracklist to 'Cause I Sez So, which is due out May 5 via Warner affiliate Atco.
