Toronto's New Country Rehab will make their latest rootsy statement on March 5, when Ghost of Your Charms drops via Kelp Records. Before then, you can stream the whole thing on Exclaim.ca.
The collection was recorded with producer Chris Stringer (Timber Timbre, Ohbijou, the D'urbervilles). Nine of the 11 tracks are originals, and a press release notes that these songs explore themes like "love, loss, death and decisions."
The album finds the group exploring various kinds of roots music, with "Rollin'" channelling a creepy spaghetti western vibe, "Lost Highway" brimming with bluesy grit and "Empty Room Blues" culminating in a fiddle-led hoedown.
