Nerf Herder

My E.P.

BY Stuart GreenPublished Aug 1, 2001

One of the best joke punk bands just keeps on getting better. This seven-song follow up to their 1999 How To Meet Girls disc contains enough arcane pop culture references to fill a Dennis Miller monologue and more self-deprecating nerd jokes than a Weezer record, and it's all set to some pretty darn catchy music. Known best for veiled tributes to Van Halen and Courtney Love, lanky front-man Parry Gripp this time sets his sights on his love life, or more specifically the shortcomings of it. The notable exception being "The Sportsman Bar," which is a sea shanty tribute to his favourite piss-soaked drinking hole. For maximum laughs per minute, file this one next to your Vandals and Bloodhound Gang records.
