Neanderthals

Flying the cave rock flag high, complete with Freddy Flintstone costumes, Nashville’s Neanderthals are pure mid ‘60s frat rock personified. Sharing members with Los Straitjackets, these older, seasoned players know their stuff inside and out, and easily craft some nice grooves. There are a lot of songs about werewolves, songs with screaming and songs with monster sound effects. One track, “The 2000 Pound Werewolf,” actually manages to combine all these elements into one crazy meltdown. Good old-style production also contributes to make this a solid, silly, traditional garage release. There are also two more tracks included here than when this was originally released on vinyl by British label No Hit.
