Nationale Blue

Fusing the art-rock scope of King Crimson and Fishwife with the indie rock spirit of Fugazi and Sonic Youth, the debut from this Boston trio is 70 minutes of mind-bending, genre-busting jazz-tinged post-punk for thinking people. If Modest Mouse and Rush got together after a hardcore show for an all-night jam session it might sound something like this. Some of the tracks are instrumental and some have vocals, or something approximating singing, anyway. With Drive Like Jehu residing in the "where are they now?" files, the Nationale Blue are one of the few bands delivering music that can be appreciated by moshers and music theory majors alike.
