Madonna's Maverick label whored themselves silly in their effort to sign Muse, a three-piece Brit band whose non-stop crescendos in their songs come at you from all directions. Matt Bellamy's melodramatic vocals will ultimately draw quick comparisons to Radiohead. Supporting Bellamy's vocals is his guitar playing that distorts and shakes faster and louder than Madonna's bed. The noise Bellamy can mangle out of his Placebo-sounding guitar is a truly bone-crunching. These boys are pop rock intense and that's safe on people's hearing.
