Rock'n'roll survivors the Murder City Devils have dusted themselves off and emerged with news that they're hitting the coast for a handful of tour dates in 2009. And while the reformed Seattle outfit may not have a new album up for grabs, they'll have the next best thing: new vinyl reissues of almost their entire catalogue.
On February 17, Sub Pop will repress all three MCD full-lengths - The Murder City Devils, Empty Bottles, Broken Hearts and In Name and Blood - as well as the Thelema EP, all of which are coming on high-quality colour vinyl. However, these are strictly limited-edition releases, so you may want to jump on that pre-ordering once it gets going.
As for the live action, the Devils will be playing several dates in the U.S., as well as one at Canada's West coast flagship of Vancouver on February 13. The dates follow the band's break-up in 2001 and subsequent reformation in 2006. And with the MCD primarily playing only the odd one-off in recent years, the upcoming tour will mark the first time many fans can catch the band live in a long, long time.
For more information on the Devils' new rise, you can check out their recently resurrected website here, where the band members plan to post a file of rare old goods and hopefully a few new ones.
