Mumford & Sons have given their sound an overhaul for their new album Wilder Mind, and now we can hear this new electric style on the single "Believe."
The song sports expansive synth orchestrations that give the first half a quiet, contemplative atmosphere. In the second half, a distorted guitar takes over, and the drums push the song towards a grandiose rock crescendo. It's a long way from the band's floorboard-stomping folk origins, but the radio-friendly pop-rock sound isn't exactly radical or innovative.
