The Mohawk Lodge

'Damaged Goods' (album stream)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Oct 8, 2012

The Mohawk Lodge have been building anticipation for their album Damaged Goods for more than a year, and now the release day is finally almost upon us. Before the long-player arrives on October 23 via band leader Ryder Havdale's own White Whale Records, you can stream the whole thing on Exclaim.ca.

Damaged Goods was conceived in a remote cabin in the woods, where Havdale holed himself up with a number of song fragments. He then fleshed these out to create a collection described in a press release as "brimming with voodoo, summer nights, long drives and near-death experiences."

Havdale subsequently recorded the songs in Toronto with his live band, which features Eamon McGrath, Clay Jones (Huddle), Danny Miles and Peter Dreimanis (July Talk). The album was eventually finished with producer Jordan Koop at his Noise Floor studio in Ladysmith, BC.

Pre-order Damaged Goods on CD, LP or digital download right here.

Expect the Mohawk Lodge to tour Canada in the spring.
