Modest Mouse's Isaac Brock Immortalized in Portland Mayor's Office

BY Stephen CarlickPublished Jun 4, 2010

When he's not contributing songs to soundtracks or children's cartoons, front-man for Portland, OR's Modest Mouse Isaac Brock can usually be found playing shows, recording or, um, being painted, in lederhosen, in front of a boar, for the mayor of Portland.

The portrait (seen above) was painted by Portland artist Alexander Rokoff, and is now hanging in the office of Mayor Sam Adams, as the Portland Mercury [The Daily Swarm] points out.

Brock, Rokoff and Adams can all be seen in the video below, amidst much giggling, discussing the portrait.

Okay, artists in Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Vancouver - time to get started on your wacky portraits of Sloan, Arcade Fire, Broken Social Scene, the Weakerthans, Cadence Weapon and the New Pornographers, respectively. Chop, chop!
