Toronto indie pop outfit Modern Superstitions are basking in the afterglow of their self-titled debut album, which came out this fall through Last Gang. Now, they've unleashed a video for opening track "Last Night's Dress."
The song begins with hypnotically spiralling arpeggios and a melody that sounds halfway between the Pretenders and Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark." This transitions into a garage-pop chorus, making for an infectious tune. The accompanying video is a vintage-looking affair that mixes performance clips with some fast-cut scenes that capture both the song's energy and its melancholy.

Modern Superstitions will be playing Last Gang's annual charity event at Toronto's Drake Hotel on Thursday (December 20), along with Tre Mission, Egyptrixx and DJ Amy Traphouse. Tickets are $10 at the door, with proceeds going to Dixon Hall. You can get more info here.
